Elon Musk’s ever-growing family just got bigger—again. The billionaire entrepreneur and Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis have now welcomed their fourth child together, a son named Seldon Lycurgus.
The news broke on February 28, 2025, the same day that their daughter Arcadia turned one. In a heartfelt post on X, formerly Twitter, Shivon wrote, “Happy 1st birthday, darling Arcadia. Mommy loves you with all her heart.” And then, in the same breath, she dropped another bombshell: “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much.” Musk, in his usual cryptic style, simply replied with a heart emoji.

This latest addition brings Musk’s total number of children to 14, with four of them being with Zilis. The pair, who have been linked professionally through Neuralink and OpenAI, first had twins in November 2021: Strider Sekhar Sirius and Azure Astra Alice. Their existence only became public knowledge in July 2022, when court documents surfaced revealing that Musk and Zilis had quietly petitioned to change their names so that they would carry their father’s last name while incorporating their mother’s surname as a middle name. Then came Arcadia, whose birth was only acknowledged months later, and now, baby Seldon, whose birth date remains undisclosed.
Zilis, a Canadian AI specialist with an impressive resume, has been a key player in Musk’s ventures, having served as the director of operations at Neuralink. Their professional collaboration took an unexpected personal turn when Musk reportedly offered to be her sperm donor, aligning with his well-documented “pronatalist” views. In Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, Zilis admitted that she had initially planned to use an anonymous donor but changed her mind when Musk volunteered. “He really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to do this,” she revealed, adding, “I can’t possibly think of genes I would prefer for my children.”

But while Musk and Zilis quietly expanded their family, the tech mogul found himself in a storm of baby mama drama elsewhere. Just two weeks before the news of Seldon’s birth surfaced, conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair publicly revealed that Musk was also the father of her child, R.S.C., born in September 2024. St. Clair had kept the information under wraps for five months, citing privacy concerns, but when rumors began swirling in the media, she decided to break her silence.
“Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father,” she wrote on X. St. Clair later sued Musk for sole custody, alleging that he had only visited their child three times—twice in New York for brief meetings in September 2024 and once in Austin for a mere 30 minutes. A custody hearing has been scheduled for May 29, 2025, and St. Clair has also requested a paternity test.

Adding fuel to the fire, Musk’s ex-partner, musician Grimes, recently made headlines when she publicly pleaded with him to pay attention to their child’s “medical crisis.” Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, shares three children with Musk: X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus (Tau). In a now-deleted post, she wrote, “Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.”
Musk’s sprawling family tree has long been a subject of fascination. He first became a father in 2002 with his ex-wife Justine Wilson, but their firstborn, Nevada Alexander, tragically passed away at just 10 weeks old due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The couple then used IVF to conceive twins Griffin and Vivian, now 20, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, now 19. Vivian made headlines in 2022 when she legally changed her name and gender, severing ties with Musk entirely.
Despite his unconventional personal life, Musk has been vocal about his belief that humanity is facing a “population collapse” and that he is personally doing his part to reverse the trend. “A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” he tweeted in 2022. “Mark my words, they are sadly true.”

Zilis, for her part, has kept a relatively low profile outside of her professional life. She was born on February 8, 1986, in Markham, Ontario, to a Punjabi Indian mother and a Caucasian father. A Yale graduate with degrees in economics and philosophy, she played goalie on the university’s ice hockey team and later made a name for herself in the tech world, working at IBM, Bloomberg Beta, and OpenAI before joining Musk’s Neuralink.
As Musk’s family continues to grow, so does public curiosity about the dynamics between the billionaire and the women who share his children. With custody battles, public spats, and surprise birth announcements unfolding on a near-constant basis, one thing is clear: when it comes to Elon Musk, expect the unexpected.
