Jamey Johnson's Wife Brittney Eakins: Her Age & His Children

Country music’s favorite outlaw, Jamey Johnson, 49, known for his rough-around-the-edges charm and soul-stirring lyrics, finally found his match in Brittney Eakins, 33—a sharp-witted attorney who wasn’t about to let him get away with his usual antics. Their love story is a mix of Southern romance, stubborn persistence, and a little bit of that classic Johnson humor. From a whirlwind almost-proposal to a star-studded wedding at a rock quarry, their journey is anything but ordinary.

How a Law Clerk Tamed a Country Rebel

Jamey and Brittney’s paths crossed in 2019 at Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves’ inauguration. Johnson, a longtime friend of the Reeves family, was there playing music, while Brittney, fresh out of law school, was working behind the scenes. The moment they met, Johnson—never one to shy away from bold moves—jokingly blurted out, “Let’s skip the dating and just get married.” Brittney, unsurprisingly, shut that down fast. But something about her no-nonsense attitude must have intrigued him because he kept coming back.

For five years, they made a long-distance relationship work. Johnson, a licensed pilot, would fly himself to Mississippi just to see her, proving that even a gruff country singer can turn into a hopeless romantic when the right woman comes along. Brittney, meanwhile, was building her career as an attorney, working for the Mississippi State Supreme Court and later the Attorney General’s office. Their worlds couldn’t have been more different—hers filled with legal briefs and courtrooms, his with tour buses and honky-tonks—but somehow, it worked.

In March 2023, Johnson decided to make things official. He took Brittney back to the exact spot where they first met, near Walker’s Restaurant in Jackson, and proposed—this time, for real. No jokes, no half-hearted lines, just a simple, heartfelt question. She said yes, and the countdown to their wedding began.

A Wedding as Unconventional as Their Love Story

Fast forward to May 20, 2025, and the couple tied the knot at Graystone Quarry in Franklin, Tennessee—a place that held deep meaning for Jamey Johnson. Years before he was a country star, he actually worked at that quarry, hauling rocks. Now, he was back, not as a laborer, but as a groom, marrying the love of his life in front of 350 guests, including some of Nashville’s biggest names. Kid Rock, Zac Brown, Randy Travis, and Lukas Nelson were all there, turning the ceremony into an impromptu country music celebration.

The wedding was a perfect blend of rugged and refined. The dress code? “Cowboy black tie,” which basically meant boots with tuxedos and sequined dresses with Stetson hats. Johnson’s groom’s cake stole the show—a full-scale replica of his beloved guitar, “Ole Maple.” And true to his roots, the reception was less about fancy champagne toasts and more about good whiskey, live music, and a party that probably didn’t end until sunrise.

As for kids? Well, Johnson made it clear from day one that he wanted a family. In fact, he has two daughters from his previous marriage to Amy Johnson, including a daughter named Kylee Johnson, who has occasionally appeared with him at public events and even served as a backup singer at his concerts.

It’s safe to say that if Jamey and Brittney do have children, they’ll be raised on a steady diet of outlaw country tunes and bedtime stories about courtroom victories. For now, the couple is soaking up newlywed life, with plans for a quick Bahamas getaway and a longer European trip later in the year.

One thing’s for sure—Jamey Johnson, the man who once sang about loneliness and heartbreak, has finally found his happy ending. And Brittney? She got herself a husband who’s as devoted as he is unpredictable. Together, they’re proof that sometimes, the best love stories start with a joke, a stubborn refusal, and a whole lot of persistence.
