Sadly, Tonia lost her battle with sarcoma cancer on March 24, 2018, after fighting bravely for 4½ years.
Just three months later, Cesily Collette Taylor was born, bringing a ray of light and happiness to the Taylor family during such a tough time. Kenny often talks about how much his mother inspired him. Her strength, dedication, and love for her community are values he and his wife are now passing on to Cesily.
At 19 weeks pregnant, Kenny and his wife learned their daughter, Cesily, would be born with spina bifida, a condition that affects the spinal cord. Doctors told them she’d likely never move anything below her neck and even suggested they consider ending the pregnancy.
But the Taylors wouldn’t hear of it. They were determined to give Cesily a life full of love, joy, and possibilities. With years of physical therapy and a ton of determination, Cesily proved everyone wrong, hitting milestones no one thought she’d ever reach.
